Walking Well, Carmarthenshire
Today, I went for a walk with Walking Well, Carmarthenshire, Llandeilo branch. It is a great little group - I say that, there were 14 of us today - and we meet at the railway station in Llandeilo at 10:00 am every other Friday. The walks are normally around two to three miles, so a great opportunity to get to know people you live near and the place you live in (those are the reasons I joined!) as well as to get out and about and do a bit of enjoyable exercise. If you are interested in joining the group contact Philip James on 01558 685746.
Today we walked in the forestry at Caio. There were beautiful autumn colours, but unfortunately no sunshine in the morning to show them off.
As we walked through the woodland, the water droplets on the branches were very pretty. I hope the photo below has done justice to them!
We came across this old bench - covered in lichen. The view if you sat on it was of trees, and more trees. Maybe it was put there when the forestry was newly planted?
The colours were so beautiful - and these oak leaves were huge!!
You can see the height of the trees - regimented rows
Looking back along the path
Even the plant that had gone to see were pretty -
And then we have the Douglas Firs............
And a well deserved cider in the Brunant Arms in Caio at the end. Very welcoming of 14 walkers descending upon them, it is a lovely place, and I will definitely go back there.
